Roberto A. Lotufo is the CTO co-founder of NeuralMind. He received the B.S. degree from Instituto Tecnologico de Aeronautica, Brazil, in 1978, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Bristol, U.K., in 1990, in Electrical Engineering. He is a full professor collaborating at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Campinas (Unicamp), Brazil, were he has worked for since 1981. His principal research interests are in the areas of Deep Learning for Image and Document Processing and Analysis. He was the Executive Director of the Inova Unicamp Innovation Agency for ten years. He was awarded the Innovation Personality in 2008 and the Zeferino Vaz Academic Recognition in 2011 from University of Campinas. Member of the winning team of the 2015 Fingerprint Liveness Detection Competition and of the 2020 Use of AI algorithms for the diagnosis of COVID-19 using CT and chest x-ray images.
