I'm a Professor and Research Scientist at the University of Campinas (Unicamp).

My motivation is to develop technologies to provide users with inclusive, intuitive, efficient and insightful access to information, leveraging the potential of great minds to solve complex problems and achieve brilliant outcomes.

I spent the last years investigating expressive speech facial animation synthesis and audiovisual speech perception. That's how I entered the world of Affective Computing, an interdisciplinary field spanning engineering, computer science, psychology, and cognitive science.

My playground includes:

  • Computer Graphics, Digital Image Processing
  • Data Science, Machine Learning
  • Motion Capture, Data Visualization
  • Virtual Reality
  • And a number of other fascinating subjects that escapes from Engineering...

I am a STEM education enthusiast. It is my passion to help educate a new generation of scientists and professionals.
