About me

Hello! I'm Mábia. I was born in João Pessoa-PB, Brazil, but I'm currently living in Vancouver-BC, Canada, where I am eager to combine the knowledge in programming I gained over these past 10+ years of research to refocus my career in software development.

I have PhD and Master's in Electrical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP, Brazil) and a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Paraíba (UFBP, Brazil), now called Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG). I was also a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto in 2009-2010. To learn more about me, see my Curriculum Vitae.

About the site

This website presents some of the knowledge I gained during my PhD in Network Calculus (NC). For now, I present an introduction to Network Calculus, including the basic ideas and a “where to start” bibliography.

Dioid algebra is part of the mathematical background for NC. Thus, you’ll also find here one section on Dioid Algebra. This section contains just concepts that you need to understand the Network Calculus. If you are interested in Dioid Algebra per se, you will probably want to have a look at the “Green Book” [1] as well.

Well... Enjoy it!
