vwatersh - Watershed
will do the watershed of a gray-scale input image.
The input image can be looked at as a surface model. Its basins are recognized via a flooding simulation.
The connectivity can be set to 4 or 8. If the 'Limited Watershed' option is set to true, the input image's border will be initialized with zeroes. This is useful to remove basins that touch the border.

vwatersh -i ball.xv -cv 4 -o outimage.xv
Will do the 4-connectivity watershed of image "ball.xv", with the resulting image written to "outimage.xv".
The input image should be a gray-scale image of the VIFF_TYP_1_BYTE (byte) data type. The output image will be of the VIFF_TYP_2_BYTE (short) data type.
