Short bio

Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from Juiz de Fora Federal University - MG - Brazil (1986), M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Chiba (National) University - Japan (1990), and Ph.D. in Computer Science from Chiba (National) University - Japan (1993). Worked as a researcher and later as an Associate Professor at the Information Engineering Department, Shinshu (National) University - Japan (1993 - 1996). Presently, is an Associate Professor at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Campinas (Unicamp). Worked also as the academic coordinator of Computer Engineering undergraduate course, head of Unicamp's Computing Center (CCUEC) and Unicamp General Coordinator of Communications and Information Technology office (CTIC). Main activities: teaching, research and advising undergrad, master and doctorate students in the field of Computer Science and Engineering, with emphasis on Information Security (applied cryptography), Digital Identity Management, Distributed and High Performance Computing.
